Welcome to the Department of Special Education
EWCSD offers special education programs and services for students with disabilities from birth through 8th grade. These programs and services are provided for the following categories of students with disabilities, either in the District or through the Whittier Area Cooperative Special Education Program (WACSEP).

In the East Whittier City School District, special education services are provided to support students in attaining educational benefit in the least restrictive environment (LRE). Specially designed instruction is provided to meet the unique needs of our students with disabilities. This instruction is provided in a variety of settings.
