Mr. Thomas Baird was appointed to the East Whittier City School District Board of Education in 2026.

Mr. Baird is a licensed clinical social worker with professional experience in education and healthcare. He has extensive experience serving families in L.A. County, and loves the Whittier community. He and his wife, Frances Luna-Baird, were raised here in Whittier, where they participated in Whittier Community Jr. Theater and eventually met at California High. They remain active in Whittier and encourage their children to engage in community activities. As a social worker and educator, Mr. Baird serves as a fierce advocate for children and older adults.

Mr. Baird holds a Master's Degree in Social Work from Rutgers University and a Master's Degree from Princeton Theological Seminary.  In his spare time, he enjoys spending time with his family, drawing, and watching baseball.
